I thought the BBC Scotland political editor, Brian Taylor, struck exactly the right note on his blog yesterday Blether with Brian. Brian gave equal weight to the launch of the Labour Scottish manifesto and the SNP national campaign, and the difficulties both encountered in trying to address a UK General Election.
Just wish the television coverage has been as coherent.
Six o'clock news - led with Labour's manifesto launch. Extensive coverage at top and further down the show.
Three minute synopsis of SNP campaign launch
Reporting Scotland "Labour Manifesto Launch' gets a second bite of the cherry. Tops programme. Document is re-written to address devolved policy which is nothing to do with Westminster.
Nobody says this is "irrelevant". SNP Campaign launch is ignored. Salmond allowed soundbite on fuel prices.
Strange that Taylor's genuinely impartial voice is not reflected in the mainstream coverage.
